A distinctive and highly original piece of motorsport-inspired art, this one-of-one hand-cut vinyl artwork reimagines a classic Marlboro British Grand Prix promotional sticker as a fine art object. Created on 10 x 8 inch artboard, the piece captures the bold simplicity and instantly recognizable graphic style of the original retro sticker that was distributed by Marlboro to promote Grand Prix races during the 1980s.
This artwork is the third test piece in a new creative direction exploring giant oversized stickers. Although framed for display, it remains mounted on its original carrying paper, meaning it is still an actual physical sticker rather than simply a representation of one. Each element is made from individually hand-cut colored vinyl shapes, assembled entirely by hand and without the use of a ruler, giving the piece both precision and character.
