Bluebird 2.0 – Original Hand-Cut Vinyl Artwork
A striking tribute to one of motoring's most extraordinary machines, this original artwork revisits the legendary Bluebird in a powerful new 2.0 edition. Depicting the iconic land speed record car during preparations on Lake Eyre, Australia, on 17 July 1964, the piece captures both the elegance of its streamlined form and the quiet intensity of a truly historic moment in automotive achievement.
Created more than ten years after the artist first explored this same scene, Bluebird 2.0 reflects a fresh interpretation and a clear sense of artistic development. The artwork is constructed from hundreds of individually hand-cut colored vinyl shapes, carefully assembled in a collage-like process and applied to an A1 Perspex panel, before being finished with a clear lacquer coating.
As a one-of-one original, this piece is both a celebration of the ultimate speed icon and a showcase of the distinctive hand-cut vinyl technique that gives the work its bold, graphic character.
